Galeria Cidade, located at the resort Cidade de Goa (to book rooms please visit www.cidadedegoa.com or click here) in Vainguinim Beach, Goa provides a professional platform for local as well as national artists to exhibit their creations.
The concept of an art gallery germinated when Cidade de Goa successfully conducted two art camps comprising of reputed national artists such as Yusuf Arakkal, Jatin Das, Manu Parekh, Shamshad Hussain, Achuthan Kudallur and more as well as some renowned Goan artists such as Rajashree Thakker, Hanuman Kambli, Querozito de Souza and others in 1999 and 2001.
In keeping with its philosophy of promoting art & culture, Galeria Cidade was established and had its first show in November 2003.
The gallery is open to exhibitions by Goan as well as national artists. Works created in diverse mediums and styles have been displayed by various artists such as watercolours , etchings, drawings in lead, paintings in thread, prints, tantric art and sculptures. Though relatively new, Galeria Cidade has been able to attract artists and art lovers alike.
