Corbett Hideaway
Village- Garjia, Distt-Kumaon
Uttaranchal(India)

Such is the entity of The Corbett Hideaway tucked away into the jungles of Jim Corbett Hideaway tucked away into the jungles of Jim Corbett. Far, away from the exhaust pipes of trucks and vehicles, from lifeless urban vegetation, from dull grey sky. this is an invitation to explore the music of the forest and to breathe some clean air, at last.
Claridges Corbett Hideaway is located at a hill district, soundlessly existing between the Corbett National Park and the Kosi river, this hideaway for tired city dwellers has become almost part of the jungle habitat where everything is engineered to give you that very special feeling of being one with nature, with all the sophistication of modern day amenities to ensure your comfort and convenience.

Corbett National Park is one of India's finest wildlife sanctuary. The park stretches over 1300 sq. kms in the Himalayan foothills with open grasslands, sal and riverine forests and the beautiful Ramganga river flowing through the entire length. Over 50 mammal and 580 bird and 25 reptile species have been listed in Corbett. The main attraction is the tusker herd, hog, wild boar and the Park is a paradise for bird watchers.

Apart from a hundred and seventy six mango trees, you can see at the Hideaway a bountiful jackfruit tree near the reception, variegated bamboo including sacaram, bushes of hibiscus, rainflower, gandharaja, ticoma, raat ki rani and haemilia, azalea aplenty, and guava trees which yield fruit three times a year! The grounds are meant for meandering, loitering, meditating and playing. A tennis court on the sprawling lawns gives way to the swimming pool with its languid blue waters, very therapeutic after a rigorous safari.

The poolside bar lets you beer as you float. Even greater relaxation techniques are available close by - massage therapy by trained masseurs. By the time you've worked up a wild appetite, your sense of smell will lead you to the Gol Ghar, the thatched outdoor restaurant which lays out magnificent breakfasts, lunches and dinners. The nights are generally wilder, with bonfires, entertainment and bonhomie.

Facilities:
The natural preference for outdoor excursions is the highly recommended jungle safari in the Corbett Hideaway Canter bus, with stopover of a day or more in the park. Special programmes are organized by the Hideaway on request, such as theme dinners and banquets, kumaoni dance performances with musicians, group excursions to other tourist spots like Nainital and Bhimtal.

Corbett Hideaway takes you on exhilarating safaris to the Corbett Park on horseback, elephant and on cycles. Softer options are jeeps and the Resort's Canter bus. Probably no other resort is as well equipped with safari facilities.
